Car parking at the railway is free of charge. We can get quite busy so please park neatly to get as many cars in as we can!
Whether you’re after a freshly brewed steaming cup of tea or coffee, or in need of a tasty homemade afternoon treat, we have something for everyone at the Station Cafe. Maybe you’d like us to cater a children’s birthday party, stop off after your train ride, or simply visit to enjoy a drink, snack, or ice-cream. We’re a friendly, family-run cafe, with plenty of outdoor seating, and pride ourselves on our excellent service.
We look forward to seeing you!
There are three seating areas where you can watch the trains. The one next to the Station Cafe is for tea room customers to enjoy their purchases. The others are i) in the station area next to the turntable and ii) to the left of the Station Building beyond the Platform area. These are both free for all to use.
Toilets are located in the Station Building next to the Station Cafe. A baby changing table is available in the Disabled Toilet. Keys can be obtained from the Station Cafe and the Ticket Office
First Aid kits are located in the tea room, ticket office, engine shed and Cockcrow Hill signal box. Please ask a member of the staff if you need assistance.
Special arrangements for photographers can occasionally be made. Whilst photography from stations and trains is fine, walking around the track is strictly prohibited. If you do take photos whilst the train is in motion, please do not stand up or lean out or hold your camera out at arm’s length. STRICTLY NO SELFIE STICKS.
