No, simply turn up on the day, purchase your tickets from the Ticket Office and enjoy the ride!

The Ticket Office and the Station Cafe can accept cash, most credit cards, debit cards, contactless payment and Apple Pay.

All passengers that travel on our trains need to be able to sit in the carriages unaided and support themselves, as required by our insurers. For this reason, we are unable to carry children under 2 years of age. However, we are aware that even some 2-year-olds and above are not able to meet this criteria. We reserve the right to refuse to carry ANY passenger who is unable to sit on its own seat without assistance, regardless of age. For the safety of all concerned, our decision is final.

Yes, the toilets are located in the Station Building next to the Station Cafe. A baby changing table is available in the Disabled Toilet. Keys for the Disabled Toilet can be obtained from the Station Cafe and the Ticket Office.

Dogs are welcome at the GCR, but are not allowed in the Station area and cannot ride on the trains. Please do not allow them to run loose in the car park or lower field and remember to clear up any “donations.”

We do provide a concession for those with a valid carers card. One carer will travel for free alongside one fare paying passenger.

Photography from stations and trains is fine, however walking around the track is strictly prohibited. If you do take photos whilst the train is in motion, then for your safety please do not stand up, lean out or hold your camera out at arm’s length. 

Yes, there are three seating areas where you can watch the trains. The one next to the Station Cafe is for tearoom customers to enjoy their purchases. The others are in the Station area next to the turntable and to the left of the Station Building beyond the Platform area.
